Liz Kurila, a seasoned massage therapist is thrilled to join the team at Elite Fitness Concepts. Living in Belmont Greene, she is eager to have a fabulous new facility to work with her clients, and work with the members of the new club.
Liz is not new to her career in health and fitness. Her interest in health care, fitness, and wellness led her to a Bachelors degree in Health Science from James Madison University in 1996. Liz graduated with honors from AKS Massage School in Herndon, Virginia in 2002. She received her National Massage Certification from the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork (NCBTMB) the following year and is licensed in Virginia through the Board of Nursing. She continues to expand her knowledge and skills through professional continuing education.
Liz’s experience of Swedish, deep-tissue massage, trigger point therapy, clinical massage, and myofascial release techniques allows her to customize her massage and maximize benefits specific to each client. Her interest in working with prenatal clients, has lead her to seek out additional training for Prenatal Massage Certification in June 2009.
Liz appreciates working with athletes because she is one. You may run into her training for her triathlons running and cycling on the WO&D trail. She has an acute understanding of the need to recover and continue a training program even when aches and pains attempt to keep her from a planned training schedule. She also loves working with moms, because she knows that path intimately as well. She has two young children and understands the physical and mental demands parents encounter. She believes wholeheartedly that mothers can benefit greatly from massage!
Liz’s belief is that preventive care is the best care. Massage, in addition to good nutrition and physical fitness, is a wonderful way to keep you functioning at your best potential.
